5 ideas.
To start the pre-production I generated 5 different ideas for what my production could be about:
-The first was a short, in-depth look into the history of the Deus Ex franchise being told by a presenter and also using short clips from all three games.
-The second was a 30-60 second long teaser trailer for the upcoming computer game Watch_dogs that would show the different features and mechanics each with a short explanation from a presenter
-My third idea was a short promotional video for a new skate park called "The Track" that is opening in the Mexborough area. The video would be a short interview with the owner/founder of the park.
-My forth idea was a review on both the dark knight and the The dark knight rises. the video would break both films down to there key moments, themes and characters and then compare them.
-My fifth and final idea was a music video for the song "The Ghost Of Tom Joad" the video was intended to emphasize the meaning of the song and its lyrics by playing the audio over images and and short clips of the homeless and unemployed.
Why i chose my idea.
Once I had my 5 ideas i had to chose one to produce. After considering all five ideas I chose to proceed in making a short, in-depth look at Deus Ex. I chose this option because I felt it was the most interesting of the five options and it was the option that I personal wanted to do the most.
Treatment.
The first thing I had to do with my idea was write a treatment for it. This consisted of a short overview of the production, a Synopsis of what the video would contain, the style in which it would be shown to the audience and the format and length of the video. To help me do this I did some research on:
-What a treatment is
-How to write a treatment effectively
-What the is porpoise of treatment
script.
once I finished my treatment I had to write a script so the presenter knows what to say and the editor knows when to change scene. This proved to be the longest task so far as all the diologe had to be researched to make sure the information given in the video was accurate and in order.
mood board.
After I was finished with my script I began to make a Mood Board by collection images linked to my production and the Franchise it will be focused on. To find these images I used the internet and magazines I then annotated these images explaining why I chose them.
storyboard.
My next task was to make a storyboard for my video this shows roughly what the video wall look like one it has been recorded and edited. I found this task to be the easiest so far this was the.
Next task:
Produce a production schedule.
Filming will begin on Tuesday 22nd of October.
